Wednesday 12/1

Exercise: 3 mile run, 569 calories plus 40 min bike ride 321 cal
Net Calories: 1465
Weight: 220
Hacker's Weight:(still normalizing)

Great run this morning, then off for haircut. I went in to work today to meet physician candidate, I also had a huge amount of work left to do from yesterday. I really didn't want to go in in the end, and afterwards came home and largely procrastinated on doing my charting, including going a little overboard with peppermint patties and pita bread and TV. Veg out. Made up for it later with extra bike ride in evening, landed right on net calorie goal by bedtime.

Starting Over

Wow, it's hard to believe that the last time I posted here was back in July. It's been a somewhat tumultuous road since then, and I'm now on the other side of a move, three months in to my new job/career/life, a month and a half of living without my husband (at least not in the same house while we looked for a job for him). Unfortunately, all that added up to major loss of momentum in the weight loss department, and here I am more than ten pounds heavier than at the start of this project. Pretty discouraging, but also an opportunity.

I feel newly energized to tackle this again, make it my biggest priority, and work to get to my goal. Things are poised for this to be a good time to be working on this - we're back happily under one roof, both employed, and with a fairly stable lifestyle emerging with routines and some predictability. My job has settled down, so I'm not feeling like I'm just fighting for survival all the time, and while I'm still working too many hours, it's getting more manageable. And I really do want to be pregnant, and with a healthy pregnancy. Rich had a hard time sleeping the other night and told me later it was largely because he was worried about me and my health. He's such a help in working on this, clearly concerned and supportive and wanting to do whatever he can to help me in the struggle. And he also said the other day that we needed to work on this because he wants to have a baby soon. I'm not sure why, but both of those interactions were very compelling for me, and have lit a fire under me. Three days in and doing well, though still with a lot of work ahead of me.
